Lacrosse is Corporate Partner at the Current and Future Challenges for Polish SMEs, sources of financing conference at the Warsaw School of Economics
23 May 2011
Lacrosse provided comprehensive interpreting services at the one-day conference which took place at the prestigious Warsaw School of Economics on 7 June.
Distinguished panelists from the world of academia together with representatives from government agencies, private equity funds, banks, consultancies and employer federations examined the key challenges facing the SME sector in Poland today.
Whilst Poland has a sizeable SME sector, too often SMEs fail to take advantage of opportunities for growth and development. In terms of innovation and investment in this sector Poland still lags behind many EU members, with Polish companies enjoying advantages through cost-driven competitiveness. Over the medium to long-term as these advantages diminish, Polish companies will need to focus on quality-driven competitiveness as a means to growth and profitability.
The conference looked at issues such as export opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs, promotion of and investment in R&D and innovation, managing the transition from a small to medium-sized business, and the role of private equity funds and bank-financing as a means of developing a sustainable business and creating value over the long term.
