B. familiarized myself with the provisions of

Wrong answer, try again!

C. got acquainted with

Wrong answer, try again!

D. read and understood

Correct answer!

Comment:

Answer D is more commonly used in legal English as well as being both clear and simple.

If you have 'acquainted yourself with' or 'got acquainted with' the rules of a game, you should feel able to play it without breaking them.

'To get' is almost always informal, so 'get acquainted with' seems a more natural choice for speaking than for formal writing.

If you have 'familiarized yourself with' a document, you have not only read and understood it, but you should have a good knowledge of it – for example, you have no difficulty talking about it.

E.g. "I spent the whole of yesterday evening familiarizing myself with the report because I was expecting some difficult questions from my boss."
